Surokkha App won the HSBC Business Excellence Award

The surokkha app of the ICT department has won the second HSBC Business Excellence Award for its important role in the Covid-19 pandemic. State Minister for ICT Zunaid Ahmed Palak has received the jury award by being connected online. Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi handed over the awards to representatives of nine organizations at the Radisson Hotel in Dhaka on Sunday night (March 13). Receiving the award, the ICT Minister said that by 2025, 100% of the people of the country will be connected to the Internet. At the same time, 100% of the services of the government will come in the hands of the citizens. We have been able to provide unimaginable assistance to the government through the surokkha app in the Covid-19 pandemic. Through this app, we have been able to ensure the safety of the citizens in getting vaccinated. Zunaid Ahmed Palak also expressed his relief that it has been possible to deal with the crisis in the global economic crisis by making the best use of technology by creating solutions ourselves. "We have been able to tackle the group vaccination challenge in this densely populated country using the resources of local servers," he said. That's why we've solved this problem by creating data sharing policies and unique APIs. We have been able to manage the whole issue with OTP and SMS services from all the operators from the identity platform using the national server. This was possible because we are digitally ready. The award was jointly organized by the Ministry of Commerce and the British High Commission in Dhaka. The country's electronics and technology giant Walton won the award in the 'Best in Import Substitution' category. SM Mahbubul Alam, Director, Walton Hi-Tech Industries Limited received the award from the Minister of Commerce. The British High Commissioner Robert Chatterton Dixon, Bangladesh Bank Governor Fazle Kabir, HSBC Bangladesh Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Francois de Marico and Deputy CEO Mahbub Ur Rahman were present on the occasion as special guests. Other HSBC award winning organizations are: Square Group, DBL Group, Janata Sadat Group, Amigo Bangladesh Limited, Max Group, Meghna Group of Industries and BRAC.
